Litter 2008

We were blessed with 2 Healthy and Beautiful puppies on August 25, 2008 (right on due date). However there is a sad story to go along with our happy day.

At 11:30am on August 25, I noticed something wasn’t quite right with Cassie. I took her temperature and was soon struck with worry. I rushed Cassie to an Emergency Veterinarian to have them assess what was going on. Cassie had a dark green discharge, which worried me. After seeing the X-rays they had taken of Cassie, I was sure there wasn’t going to be a very happy ending. There were five puppies all together and one of the puppies was in a very stressful position that would not allow the other puppies to reach the birth canal. After a few hours in the vet’s office; discussing what needed to be done, the vet came back in and told me they would need to do an emergency C-section. This was our first C-section since our involvement in the breed (35+ years). The Veterinarian was kind enough to let my mother and I sit in on the C-section. One by one we were handed the most beautiful puppies.

By 4:25 pm on August 25, all five puppies were delivered. We had 3 males and 2 females. All five were alive by surprise to the Vet. But sadly 20 minutes after being delivered we began to lose three puppies. We aren’t sure exactly had happened but the vet believes that Cassie developed a Uterus infection, and the three puppies on that side of the uterus were the ones we lost.

We are very Happy to be blessed with two such Healthy and Happy boys. They are beautiful and we are hoping for a bright future in the show ring or as companions. Already the puppies are showing their own personalities, they are such show offs with attitudes and are LOVING beyond belief. They are growing into Very stunning Boys.

Cassie and the puppies are doing extremely well. Cassie is a Wonderful mother, and I could not ask for anything better.

The two boys are both White Black and Tan.
