I would like to take a moment to introduce WindShadow and Myself. My name is Karen Sue Herr and I am a young, second generation Smooth Fox Terrier breeder.

Growing up I always loved to studied breed standards, DNA, Canine Genetics, training, breeding, grooming and so much more. I Love to learn about where all the breeds came and what they were originally bred to do.

I have been around Smooth Fox Terriers ever since I was born. I grew up with Many Great dogs form the Wild Country bloodline. I am now a Partner in Wild Country Smooth Fox Terriers. (Click here to see a few of the dogs Wild Country has bred). Wild Country Smooths are all born with the Dog behind the Dog Shelf. We take pride in knowing our lines are True. My Father has been with Wild Country for well over 30 years. Mr. Art Saylor is the one who started Wild Country; he is like family to me, I have known him Forever!

WindShadow is based on the Wild Country bloodline. I love what the Wild Country line has to offer to this wonderful breed. When my father first started in dog shows, his kennel name was WindShadow. He left the WindShadow name and went to Wild Country, where he has bred many wonderful dogs, bitches and has handled many GREAT dogs. My father has passed the WindShadow name down to me. I have now taken the WindShadow name as my own and I am hoping to make a mark and difference in the breed. WindShadow is the home of Classic and True Smooth Fox Terriers. WindShadow’s dogs and bitches are Classic, Correct, and Smart.  I want to improve and restore this GREAT breed back to its original beauty, uses and abilities.

WindShadow is dedicated to only Smooth Fox Terriers.

Art Saylor has always told me that I was never to have anything but a Terrier and that is not what I wanted but soon after I realized that I love and relate to Terriers better than any other group, He has told me this my whole life and it has stuck with me.
